Relevance for Circular Systemic Solutions

The EIB funds provide large investment sizes of up to € 200 million, with typical investment sizes between € 25 million and € 60 million. Among the funds, several are focusing on circular bioeconomy and other environmental priorities that can provide sufficient support to Circular Systemic Solutions or their specific components in cities and regions.

Applicant criteria

Investments are open to private and captive funds or investment platforms sponsored by public sector entities.

Eligible projects/themes

Projects must be aligned with one or more priorities of the EIB, which include climate and environmental sustainability, innovation and skills, infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises, cohesion and development. Depending on a specific fund, projects must be focused on specific themes. For example, the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund focuses on bioeconomy, specifically targeting the manufacturing, agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors.
